Welcome to
BIB Belle Of Louisville Dinner Dance Cruise
Join us Wednesday evening, October 10th, 2018 for a three hour dinner dance cruise on the historic Belle of Louisville Riverboat!
The Belle of Louisville is the oldest operating Mississippi River-style steamboat in the world. Though we know her today as the Belle of Louisville, she was originally named the Idlewild when she was built in 1914 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was designed to be a ferry and day packet vessel (for freight work), and was also outfitted for her later career as an excursion boat. Completely paddlewheel-driven with a steel hull that draws only 5' of water, she was able to travel on virtually every navigable inland waterway, earning her the distinction of being the most widely traveled river steamboat in the nation. The Belle was named a National Historic Landmark on June 30, 1989.
Derby City Bop DJ's Jim & Mike will provide the music while you dine on a catered dinner and dance in the fully enclosed, climate controlled ballroom on a wooden dance floor. Feel free to dance, socialize or just wander around the boat and enjoy the beautiful Louisville skyline and lighted bridges!
This is an extra cost item so you may choose to attend Boogie In The Bluegrass only or go for the full package and enjoy this unique experience. Although the Belle is large enough for up to 700 passengers we are limiting the ticket sales to 200 tickets to allow plenty of dance floor space and to accommodate all passengers indoor dining space. It can be a bit cold in Louisville this time of the year. Derby City Bop reviewed last years cruise and decided dinner seating on the top deck was not a good idea. Of course the weather may be great and you are more than welcome to sit and eat on the top deck if you choose.
Instructions for the cruise as well as directions for driving and parking at the Belle and other local attractions in downtown Louisville are included in a downloadable PDF file. Click the link below.
